Picture
A couples workshop for expecting parents and parents of young children. This workshop is LGBTQ inclusive.

According to the research, 2/3 of couples experience decreased relationship satisfaction after having children. The fourth trimester, the period immediately following the birth of your baby, can be filled with joy and bliss but it also can take a toll on your relationship. This workshop will arm you with the tools and knowledge to have the conversations you need to prepare your relationship for this new normal with baby

This online workshop will be broken up into two sessions. You will learn:

Session I:

1. The common factors that cause distress in relationships after arrival of baby
    2.
To increase connection by learning the importance of bids and the emotional bank account
    3. How to preserve intimacy
    4. Understanding postpartum emotions and mental health

Session II:
     1. How to promote the quality of involvement of both parents

    2. Gottman's Four Horseman: 4 negative communication patterns that lead to relationship breakdown
    3. The Gottman's constructive problem solving approach

This workshop utilizes research based tools derived from the Gottman Institute's Bringing Baby Home Program. Dr. John and Julie Gottman have conducted decades of research and work with couples to determine what makes relationships last. Denise also incorporates first hand knowledge and experiences specific to this transition from her work with couples transitioning into parenthood.
